STARTING OFF WITH GOOD DENTAL CARE
General & Family Dentistry
When you're looking for a dentist who has the skill and expertise needed to manage your family's oral health, it's important to find a professional who is current with all the latest dental technology. Dr. Whitney is up to date with advances in his field and masters the newest techniques and technology to better service your family.
The technology we choose must meet the standard for making your treatments safer, easier, and more effective. Please take a moment to review some of the state-of-the-art equipment we use on a daily basis, then give us a call to make your next appointment!
Digital x rays
Digital radiography (x-rays) is one of the most valuable types of technology we use. The precise images produced with this equipment allow us to look for and detect cavities existing between teeth and to see problems that may be developing below the gum line. The process is faster and easier than traditional x-rays. Plus you no longer have to bite on sharp X-ray films for minutes, and your images are instantly captured and saved during your dental appointment.
Some of our patients have expressed concern about the radiation exposure involved with x-rays. Our digital radiography is a type of imaging that uses digital x-ray sensors in place of traditional x-ray films. Most importantly, digital x-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays.
Intra Oral Camera
Digital photographs with our intraoral camera are a useful diagnostic tool. Through the use of a tiny camera, our dentist can show you pictures of your teeth and gums. These pictures can help identify areas like a cracked tooth or a broken filling. The intraoral camera provides you with the opportunity to see what the dentist sees while Dr. Whitney examines your mouth, and gives you a better understanding of your diagnosis and treatment options.
Biohorizon Implant System
Dr. Whitney uses BioHorizons implant system, which uses science and innovation to create unique dental implant products with proven esthetic results. These implants are lightweight, strong, biocompatible and made from titanium, the most widely used material in implant dentistry. Biohorizon dental implants are clinically proven by the most thorough and in-depth research in the industry.
Panoramic X Ray System
Dr. Whitney uses his panoramic x-ray system to take images of the jaw bone and surrounding structures. The dentist uses these images for diagnosis of cavities, sinus and bone pathology, wisdom teeth and implant evaluation, and other surgical procedures.
